Crown Resorts, the Australian based casino firm announced that they are interested in taking over Betfairs Australian gambling operations. The reason for this is because Betfair expressed the disappointment they felt in the performance on their Australian operations.
As of right now Betfair and Crown Resorts are in a 50/50 partnership. These two operators already work with one another to run the sportsbetting business that Betfair offers in Australia. If these two partners make a deal with one another, Crown Resorts would own 100% of the sportsbetting services currently offered in Australia. They would also take offer the gambling license that Betfair has in Tasmania.
Crown Resorts operates outside of Melbourne, they have gambling properties located in Macau and Australia. They have a diversified gambling experience that is beloved by players from one side of the world to the other. If Betfair was to make the deal with Crown Resorts it would allow for their gambling services to increase on a whole new level. The only negative aspect is that Betfair would not gain any of the profit from the increase in player activity.
There has yet to be any official word from Crown Resorts or Betfair. Just as we always have done we will continue to keep you updated on every bit of information that is released pertaining towards this news story. We suspect that Betfair will sign the deal due to their disappointment in the sports betting services they offer.
